Very good general guide!!!:
Very good book to provide excellent advices on what to do or what not to do... I read quite a lot of things before starting my restoration project and this book has answered a lot of questions. It is not 100% a step by step as you need bodywork knowledge before you start, but it is definitely a must have.
A Great Authoritative Technical Manual!!:
I bought this book to research how to restore a Beetle. I was expecting this to be more like a typical Hane's manual. However, this book went a lot more in depth into the teardown and restoration than any other Hane's manual I ever dealt with before. As far as I am concerned, this is the best book on the subject of VW Beetle restoration. If you plan on doing anything from rebuilding the engine to a complete restoration from the ground-up, this is the book you need!
Saving the Beetle:
A very well written book, as usual for Haynes, that is a good beginner's start for restoring vintage VW's. I would wish for a more detailed, hands-on techniques for welding as most restos require extensive body part replacement. Especially in the US Rustbelt where my cars came from.
V What:
The book is pretty good. I was trying to get a color of original but all they give is name not the actual color.
